Generally, student involvement takes the form of projects and work placements. Interested candidates can get in touch with the project managers from the various courses.

CSUG Internships

Preliminary feasibility studies of the space segment of a future Quantum Internet

A consortium of laboratories of the Sorbonne Université (LIP6), CNRS-Université de la Côte d’Azur (UCA) and the Grenoble University Space Center (CSUG), with consultancy support from the satellite operator Eutelsat, and under the direction of Thales Alenia Space France (TASF), has been selected by the French National Space Agency CNES to carry out a feasibility study of a Satellite-enabled Quantum Information Network.
Duration and dates: between February 2019 and June 2020
Basics: good knowledge base in physics will be required in at least one of the following areas: optical, mechanical, or thermal.

Several internships to be filled at levels M1 and M2:

Internship topics M1 (download):
- Identify and evaluate different subsystems of the space segment.
- Carry out a Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) analysis.

Internship topics M1 (download):
- Investigation of possible solutions for attitude (orientation) determination and control of the satellite, and for the pointing of the optical modules towards the optical ground station receivers.
- Proposing a strategy for testing of the satellite subsystems in space.
- Defining and specifying an architecture for the space segment demonstrator
