CSUG – NORWAY MISSION: FIRST TEST VALIDATED FOR ATISE!

On  March 2, 2017
The CSUG team arrived in Norway on Sunday 26 February on an expedition, which will run until 10 March, to observe the polar auroras.
The first aurora was seen this Tuesday 28 February, at around 7 pm. ATISE, the first scientific instrument developed by the CSUG, was able to successfully measure its first Northern Lights spectra from the ground, along with additional scientific data that will be valuable for space weather.

As a reminder, the goal of this expedition is to validate an optical model of the ATISE instrument on the ground, developed by the students of the CSUG, prior to its integration in the nanosatellite, the launch of which is planned for 2020.
