ATISE project: Auroral Thermosphere Ionosphere Spectrometer Experiment

ATISE is the CSUG’s first nanosatellite project. Its objective is space weather – more specifically, the study of polar auroras and airglow.

This nanosatellite, rated 12U according to the CubeSat standard, will carry two scientific instruments on board: a spectrometer and an imager. For this project, the CSUG, which oversees the mission and the instrumentation, is working in partnership with Montpellier University Space Centre (CSUM) which will be developing the platform and the ground segment.

The goal behind this project is for it to be designed as much as possible by students. Thereby, around sixty students from a variety of academic curriculum take part of the adventure each year.

The project, which began in 2015, is set for launch by the end of 2023 for a two-year mission.
